Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions
The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS), hosted and led by the University of Victoria in partnership with BC's other research-intensive universities (Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, and the University of Northern British Columbia), pulls together the intellectual capital of the province into a dynamic knowledge network that integrates multi-disciplinary approaches to climate change.
Building on the strengths of its partner universities, PICS will develop innovative climate change solutions, seek new opportunities for positive adaptation, and lead the way to a vibrant low-carbon economy.

Light House Sustainable Building Centre
The Centre is an enterprising non-profit society dedicated to advancing and catalyzing sustainability in BC’s built environment. Light House offers a range of free and fee-based programs and services out of its resource and exhibition centre.
The Centre for Coastal Studies
The Centre for Coastal Studies promotes interdisciplinary research, education and dialogue on Canada’s coastal ecosystems, particularly those in BC. By linking social and natural science with local knowledge, the Centre focuses on marine conservation, sustainable coastal communities and economies, building resource management capacity.
Cooperative Resource Management Institute
Developing solutions to problems in resource management, this collaboration between SFU researchers and various resourse-managent agencies allows for joint research projects and education for agency staff.
Climate Change Impacts Research Consortium
Investigating impacts of climate change on our environment, our economy, our health and our quality of life, CCRIC aims to to advance scientific research in this area, while improving our ability to communicate levels of risk and enabling decision-makers to better manage associated risks.
SFU Campus Sustainability Team
The Campus Sustainability Team is responsible for operational sustainability, community engagement and employee capacity building. Working in collaboration with SFU’s Sustainability Advisory Committee as part of SFU’s Sustainability Integration Network, they connects departments, groups, and individuals to advance sustainable choices at SFU.
Adaptation to Climate Change Team
ACT is a policy-planning initiative designed to develop timely options for sustainable adaptation to climate change impacts. Led by SFU’s Public Policy program, ACT will study ten climate change-related areas and consider ways to protect Canadian environmental, economic and social wellbeing.
